Pendleton blankets

It was still a bit chilly up in Washington, so Native American Pendleton blankets were everywhere in the farm house. This classic pattern called Chief Joseph was my favorite.

Hay, hay, hay ;)

Since we were staying on a Walla Walla cheese farm with goats and sheep, of all places, our wonderful friend and chef Annick decided she would make dinner with hay!! Ingredients: Hay, Jerusalem artichokes, gianormous green onions, and pork chops brined with salt (veggie version on left). YUM.Sorry about the dark blurry last shot! Pork chops took a little longer than expected, meaning more waiting, more wine, etc... DELISH!!!!!!

K Vintners

Another hilight on our recent trip to Seattle -- the weekend in Walla Walla, Washington state's wine country. We found so much great wine, inlcuding K Vintners, a vineyard that will now be one our favorites. They've got huge gutsy flavors, a logo that represents them perfectly, and a rock n' roll feel.
row1: the big barn size K in front of the tasting room and the tasting counter
row2: "El Jefe", one of the wine futures and Charles Smith's house and motorcycle parked in frontrow3: highly recommend the three K bottles we polished off that night - "The Boy", "Milbrandt", and the "Wells"
Not sure yet where we can get these down here, so we covet the 3 bottles we have left for now!
